The opportunity:
Our HSEQ team is on the lookout for a HSEQ Coordinator who is ambitious to contribute to improving our health and safety standards and enjoys being hands-on in the field.
You’ll be responsible for the implementation and coordination of various health, wellbeing, and safety activities with the objective of mitigating hazards and addressing risks across our operations. No two days are the same in our line of work, so expect a challenging yet rewarding experience where you can make significant improvements for our people, local communities, and the environment.
We are keen to source the best talent that QLD has to offer and will provide travel reimbursements as this role will involve providing support across different sites in Cairns & Townsville.
You’ll be involved in:
- Providing practical support, advice and training on health, wellbeing and safety matters.
- Conducting regular inspections, safety audits and hazard assessments of work locations, work groups, projects and individuals.
- Contributing to the development of a culture that promotes the wellbeing of all our people through appropriate programs and activities.
- Coordinating the local HSEQ representative meetings, audits, Emergency Management system, incident reporting and investigation frameworks.
- Assisting the business units to meet their obligations of maintaining best practice for ISO accreditation.
- Maintaining statutory registers and records on HSEQ matters for the control of documentation and data.
- Supporting business units in the successful return to work of injured and ill workers and identifying suitable duties.
The boxes you'll tick:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in HSEQ and/or equivalent or strong industry experience.
- Knowledge of HSEQ practices including demonstrated skills in completing audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Experience in providing HSEQ advice to multiple business units in person ranging from frontline staff to executives.
- Experience in the implementation of HSEQ policies and work practices that align with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Strong computer literacy with exposure to MS Office and other relevant systems.
- A full Car drivers licence with flexibility to travel when required.
