About the role
John Holland are looking to engage with a capable and dedicated HSEQ Manager with clear construction experience to work on a longer term project that will see you deliver HSEQ outcomes over a list of medium to large projects scopes within the project covering pipeline, water, pumpstations and earthworks.
John Holland has a long and successful partnership with Melbourne Water and we are currently delivering numerous key projects throughout Victoria. This senior leadership role will need your expertise and leadership skills across multiple stakeholders and team members.
You will be able to utilise your people, planning, leadership skills to deliver an exceptional management, governance and compliance outcomes for this program of works
Key responsibilities:

• Providing leadership to a team of safety, environment and sustainability professionals at varying stages of their careers
• Championing compliance and safety across the Project in conjunction with the Leadership team by providing training, education and awareness
• Liaising with client representatives, key internal stakeholders and regulatory representatives
• Conducting investigations as needed and making recommendations to prevent future occurrences
• Providing support, coordination and advise about HSEQ practices, systems and procedures on the Project including developing reports, training packages and other programs as required
• Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements for relevant legal, regulatory and company standards
• Conducting governance and audit activities as required and compiling reports

To be successful:

• Diploma of Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in safety, Quality, Environment, Project Management or other associated disciplines (or significant experience in a similar role)
• Safety Lead Auditor Qualification, Internal Environmental Auditor Qualification
• Construction HSE management (5+ years), alternatively you will have significant experience in a Project Safety Manager position working within the Construction and Engineering industry.
• Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
• Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes (especially those relating to Comcare), and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project
• Knowledge of Environmental legislation and statutes, and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project
