About the role
In this role, you will provide technical support and assist in developing asset infrastructure on the Council’s Spatial Information System. Additionally, you will create and maintain infrastructure asset data from subdivisional and capital works handovers.
Work type: Permanent full time
Classification: Band 6 ($90,263 - $97,365 pa plus super)
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify areas of deficiency in infrastructure records and recommend system and data improvements.
- Perform complex data analysis to maintain the integrity of the infrastructure asset management systems.
- Update the database within the system as required and generate reports.
- Maintain accurate administrative records.
- Maintain complex asset data links with the Spatial Information System and the asset management system.
- Develop analysis tools and performance analysis of databases to generate information.
- Analyse geographical data from the City’s Spatial Information System, (SIS) and produce reports.
- Providing specialist maps and supporting data to both internal business units and external customers
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in a Spatial Information System related discipline or a minimum of 5 years practical experience in Spatial (Geographic) Development & Design environment.
Essential Experience:
- Substantial experience with databases and/or asset management systems.
- Extensive knowledge of geographical information systems (especially ESRI products and ArcGIS applications) and ability to analyse and investigate asset and spatial data.
- Extensive knowledge in Spatial Information technologies would be desirable.
- Ability to analyse and provide solutions to complex spatial problems.
- Ability to use personal computers including working with the Microsoft Office suite of software programs (Access, Word, etc) and to create reports and spreadsheets using these applications.
