About the role:This role entails coordinating and supporting health and safety functions, overseeing the implementation of all health and safety matters at the mine.
Responsibilities include providing guidance and support to frontline leaders and coal mine workers on risk and hazard management.
- Execute day-to-day duties in alignment with the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) and operational priorities set by the Operations Manager.
- Offer proactive advice to leaders and workers regarding health and safety regulations, driving positive change in the workplace.
- Take the lead in delivering health, safety, and wellbeing services, aiming for continuous improvement in performance and cultural maturity across the project.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation, policies, and standards to ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance, training, and monitoring to ensure compliance with health, safety, training, and wellbeing (HST&W) legislation, policies, and procedures on-site.
- Formal HST&W Qualifications (minimum of Diploma)
- RIIRIS301A Apply Risk Management Process
- RIIOHS301A Conduct Safety and Health Investigation
- RIICOM301A Communicate Information
- RIIRIS402D Carry out risk management Process
- Formal Auditing Qualification such as Diploma Quality Auditing or equivalent is desired
- 3 years Mining HST&W experience in an Advisor role within a mining environment
- Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator
- Incident Investigation Qualification (ICAM Facilitator)
- Demonstrated continual professional development applicable to the role
- Working knowledge of an Open Cut Mining environment
