Job Summary:
As our HR Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting our AU operations. You will support a wide range of activities within our AU business, from recruitment and employee on/offboarding to employee relations to payroll support and benefits administration. support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization's Human Resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating Human Resources policies, programs, and practices.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the talent acquisition process, including sourcing, testing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding/offboarding, training, employee relations, compensation and benefits and culture
- Lead and manage the implementation and review of employment agreements
- Lead the development of employment related policies, procedures, and processes ensuring that they are legislatively compliant and reflective of current best practice and ensure successful implementation, education and communication to the business
- Lead organisational compliance with applicable legal and government employment requirements in jurisdictions of business operation (including but not limited to employment agreements, workplace health and safety, anti-discrimination, bullying & harassment, equal employment opportunity, gender equality reporting, national employment standards).
- Partner with Senior Leaders to communicate employment related policies, procedures, and programs
- Lead and manage the implementation and continuous improvement of the HRIS (currently Employment Hero)
- Lead the implementation of an effective performance review and management system, including personal performance development plans
- Must work well under pressure in a very fast-paced environment and be able to work independently with minimal direction
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability to address complaints/resolve problems, reward/discipline employees, and appraise performance
- Strong communication skills – must be able to convey facts and information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to create and work in collaborative group environments
- Knowledge of Australian and (if applicable) Melbourne-specific employment law
- Ability to invite and provide constructive feedback
- Eagerness to learn and willingness to perform any functions required to ensure the success of the AU team
You will have:
- Bachelor of Business, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years in a similar HR / People and Culture role
- Experience in professional services, and particularly in financial service will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of compensation strategy, performance management, employee relations, safety practices and talent acquisition and the ability to apply this information in a manner that is compliant with relevant employment law
- Capable of compiling and analysing employment data to guide strategic planning
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Relationship building and performance management of team members
- Critical thinking and the ability to find solutions to complex problems
