The IT Business Partnering, Australia & New Zealand role is accountable for the effective delivery of IT capabilities and services that have the greatest impact with enabling business growth in the market.

This role will partner with various business teams to define and drive digital capabilities to meet their specific strategic needs. This position will accelerate the digitisation of business through technology innovation, ensuring that their information capabilities and operations are reliable, accessible, secure, and enable them to become competitively differentiated in a rapidly changing, complex scientific landscape and external environment.

The role requires the development of strong partnerships with the business teams in the market to drive a consistent adoption of digital capabilities and innovation opportunities. 

Responsibilities

Provide domain leadership: 

  • ·Supports the IT/Digital strategy: Driving the development of realistic and actionable multi-year strategic digital capability roadmaps, informed, and prioritised by business and IT in an enterprise context. Prioritises the portfolio appropriately and supports the portfolio budget management.  

  • Develops compelling business cases: Leads the prioritisation and development of strong and clear business cases for digital capability investments in support of the roadmap and aligned with the platform strategy. Defines, measures, and achieves business outcomes for the highest value (at the lowest cost) digital capabilities

  • Designs Solutions: Supports the design of specific solutions to various business problems. Design, describe, and manage the solution most appropriate for the risks and opportunities involved. 

  • Brings an external view: Actively maintains awareness of external drivers in the business domain and relevant technology trends and brings innovative ideas.

  • Manages Risks: Continuously monitors external and internal environments for risks and ensure business continuity in the event of a crisis. 

Provide leadership: 

  • Builds strong partnerships with business stakeholders: Is viewed by business leaders as an effective partner who plans and delivers digital capabilities, safeguards their digital assets, and supports their strategic goals.   

  • Recognised as a thought leader and trusted advisor: Influences the strategic thinking of business leaders and helps business leaders to include future digital capabilities into their planning. 

  • Owns the relationship: Has effective working relationships with all relevant business teams, is involved with key business activities and forums, is responsible for building and managing effective business partnership at all levels during project execution, and takes accountability for delivering the value proposition of IT.   

  • Drives change: Ensures effective planning, execution, and communication of business change management to support digital capability investments, including business process changes to achieve maximum value from investments. Accountable for ensuring an effective change management plan is in place for their individual projects. 

Leverages the matrix organisation to drive portfolio execution: 

  • Demonstrates Matrix leadership by ensuring that all IT functions are successful in their delivery of services to the business.   

  • Empowers Shared IT teams: Understands IT business partner accountabilities throughout the portfolio lifecycle and builds empowered and trusting partnerships with shared IT team members at all levels.

  • Shows good judgement in communication: Communicates successes and issues accurately, urgently, and to the right audience, and takes accountability for ensuring effective management of expectations with business leaders.

  • Boldly acts with urgency: Shows courage, tenacity, and respect to provoke uncomfortable conversations in order to remove roadblocks to value delivery.

  • Advocate for operational excellence: Be an escalation point in case of deviations in IT services. Identify opportunities for improvement and provide constructive feedback to service managers. Educate users on operating procedures.

Experience and competencies

Required:

  • Strong business knowledge with strong professional presence with business stakeholders.

  • Ability to demonstrate strategic planning and implementation of digital capabilities for business stakeholders.

  • Experience with governance operations and demonstrated ability to evaluate the need to respond to the customer in a timely fashion with the strategic investments being made at the enterprise level.

  • Experience with information technology and management, project and portfolio assessment, planning, systems development, and business case development.

  • Ability to manage business process analysis and improvement including benefit estimation and post implementation metrics.

Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:

  • A growth mindset with an eagerness to develop and grow within the role.

  • Financial experience with budget management and business case development

  • A strong drive to explore the external landscape for leading edge business solutions including an understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and how these technologies are shaping the future.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or work within a team to implement complex digital capabilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, influence and partner with business leaders.

  • Capable of working cooperatively across boundaries and time zones within a matrix structure to achieve results.

  • An understanding of Omni-channel concepts and their impact to provide a seamless and personalised experience for our customers.

Other:

  • 5+ Years of Experience preferred

  • Strong ability and comfort with matrix management in delivering digital capabilities.

  • Possesses familiarity with and awareness of the full pharmaceutical industry lifecycle including commercial processes and solutions.
