About the role
We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced HR Manager to join our team in Brisbane. The HR Manager will play a pivotal role in managing our Human Resources functions nationally, including employee relations, safety compliance, and employee engagement. This role requires a proactive and strategic thinker with a strong understanding of the legislative requirements for the employment life cycle. This is a hands role that reports to the General Manager and is a part of the leadership team, with 1 direct report.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR initiatives that are aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Oversee employee relations, including handling grievances, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.
- Provide advice on obligations under Work Health and Safety Acts and Regulations nationally.
- Effectively communicate, mitigate, and manage employment relations issues
- Advise on Enterprise Agreements, Award conditions, Fair Work Act and NES.
- Manage the Return to Work of ill and injured workers.
- Represent the business in unfair dismissal, general protections, and discrimination conciliations.
- Coach and advise line managers on all people issues, ensuring a prompt, fair and efficient outcome.
- Ensure continued compliance and development of HR policies and procedures.
- Onboarding of corporate workforce nationally.
- Develop and deliver compliance training for corporate workforce
- Lead HR projects and initiatives including tracking and employee engagement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, preferably within blue collar staffing industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
