Firstmac has grown from a small family business of 2 people to become one of Australia's leading lenders with more than 600 team members worldwide in 44 years.
About the position
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resources Officer, to provide generalist HR support to our small team, with a focus on payroll, recruitment and BAU administration support. Given our size and the number of key function areas we need to manage, experience across all 3 of these disciplines is essential but we can also offer exposure to other areas to support your developing HR career.
Our business is currently operating a hybrid work model with a combination of work from home and the office with all initial training taking place in the office environment.
Key Duties
- Support the administration and processing of a number of fortnightly payroll functions, ensuring timeframes and accuracy of data metrics are met
- Work closely with the Human Resources Business Partner in the recruitment of staff, which is managed in-house. This will include preparing advertisements and pro-active searching using various platforms, calling perspective candidates, conducting reference checks and following through to a successful onboarding process
- Maintain employee records and in-house CRM systems to track various BAU disciplines and provide generalist administrative support
- Support the Human Resources team in pro-actively staying across new and updated legislation to ensure we are compliant and supporting the business effectively
- Assist with projects and other areas of HR focus, as and when required, to ensure ongoing development and exposure.
About you
We are looking for a minimum of 2 year’s experience in a Human Resources environment, ideally backed by a tertiary qualification. Experience in payroll processing, ideally within a medium sized business, coupled with a strong attention to detail is essential to you being our successful candidate. There will be a strong focus on recruitment and administration support, and you will possess a confident and pro-active approach and an ability to positively convey our roles and business to potential candidates. Being a small and busy team, you will have excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to manage numerous disciplines and the ability to work autonomously, with guidance and advice always available. General knowledge and experience across Human Resources principles, practises and relevant legislation and the ability to handle sensitive information professionally and with confidentiality, are also high on our list.
