We are looking for an engineer with 3-5 years of experience in the HVAC building services industry to grow with the expanding building operations team. Position specific responsibilities:

• Undertake engineering calculations, produce concept layouts and size plant for the project in accordance with Australian Standards and Benmax design philosophies
• Maintain and share knowledge of changes to code requirements and ensure these are incorporated into designs
• Review equipment options from suppliers for compliance with specifications/briefs and seek out opinions as to reliability of product and other factors to help identify risks to Benmax reputation
• Respond positively to instruction and guidance from Senior Engineers and the General Manager.
• Lead by example for Graduate Engineers assigned to work with you
• Be proactive in the tasks assigned, seek resolutions to problems, ask questions to confirm scope and timeframes and where necessary seek clarification before acting.
• Communicate deviations in agreed timeframes to the project manager well ahead of their due date
• Seek out review of work before proceeding to construction status in accordance with Benmax QA processes

Knowledge and skills:

• Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical or Diploma of Engineering – Technical/Mechanical (essential)
• Minimum 3 years’ construction industry experience
• Engineers Australia Membership (desirable)
• AIRAH membership (desirable)
• Experience with NABERS rules
• Highly developed software skills, particularly PYTHON, CAMEL and PROCORE (or similar)
• Well-developed knowledge of HVAC systems
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to complete engineering tasks in response to clear project program deadlines
• Adherence to quality assurance processes
• Professional with good self-awareness
• Organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure

• Well-developed writing skills
• Positive approach to change
