Cathara Consulting is an Australian-based Consulting firm specialising in Business Transformations and Technology Consulting & Resourcing Services.
Our Northern Territory based client is looking for an ICT Business Analyst for 12 months to provide Business Analyst services to assist in the delivery of ICT projects.
Duties:
- Drive the development and documentation of business processes including process objectives/outcomes, roles, responsibilities, policies and process maps, according to common business process standards and identify business improvements
- Work with key staff from diverse business units to gather and document business specifications and translate those into functional and non-functional requirements
- Work with stakeholders to build relationships, document and develop business scenarios, procedures and work instructions to support the business process using the required standards, methods and tools
- Plan and coordinate requirement gathering activities with stakeholders to develop and validate key deliverables to support embedding of changed business practices
- Work with internal stakeholders from different business units to lead and development of suitable business measurement and metrics
- Develop documentation such as business cases, functional and non-functional specifications
- Prioritise business requirements and user story backlogs
- Liase with vendors and third parties as required
Essential skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Business Analyst in a similar role
- Experience working within ICT projects including enterprise systems
- Demonstratable knowledge in analysing and interpreting a diverse range of technologies and technical requirements into functional and non-functional business requirements and aligning these with strategic drivers.
- Previous experience developing technical business cases for C level audiences
- Previous experience in conducting business analysis and business process development
- Strong understanding of requirements gathering and definition in business requirements
- High level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills including successfully translating complex requirements into succinct and meaningful design and scoping documents
- Experience in in planning, eliciting and validating requirements through different techniques.
- Previous experience in identifying and mapping complex data flows between enterprise information systems using a range of modelling techniques
- Demonstrated history of developing and executing business analysis plans which document a logical and methodical range of activities to deliver solution outcomes.
- Demonstrated analytical approach to problem solving in resolution of issues
- High level of written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and information transfer at all levels
- Experience working in a diverse environment

- Previous experience working in a utility environment
- Previous experience in working with Prince 2/Agile environment to drive delivery
To be successful in this role you will need to be able to return a clean police clearance and reside in Darwin for the duration of the contract
