ILS Engineer / Technical Writer wanted for key Defence Maritime organisation.

Your new role
The ILS Engineer/Technical Writer is a hybrid position performing a combination of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) as well as Technical Writing duties. In the technical writing space, you are responsible for the authoring and management of technical documentation required to satisfy the project needs. As an ILS Engineer, you are responsible for adhering to the current ILS procedures and practices required to meet the technical aspects of the role. This position, when combined, will offer the candidate exposure to the ILS facets of the project and the added ability to drive to a solution utilising their technical writing skills. In addition, the candidate will gain a greater appreciation of the cradle to grave process involved in the Engineering Change Process (ECP) traditionally not offered when considering either role as a separate entity. The ILS Engineer/Technical Writer will report to the ILS Manager.
What you'll need to succeed
• Tertiary qualifications: Trade Certificate IV and Post-trade qualifications, diploma or advanced diploma or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline and/or ILS related qualifications are required
• Ideally +3 years of proven experience in undertaking technical authoring, Support Engineering or Logistics Engineering roles, preferably in a Defence environment
• Understanding of Systems Engineering, and more specifically, how Logistics Engineering fits within Systems Engineering processes
• Strong understanding of ILS processes / procedure
• Previous Navy or marine experience in a maintenance environment would be highly regarded
• Knowledge of Defence technical document writing standards (such as Defence Standard DEF (AUST) 5000 Volume 2, Part 18 and Australian Naval Publication (ANP) 4412-4201) is desirable
• Pre-existing NV1 Security Clearance would be highly regarded
• Ability to gain NV1 Security Clearance is required
