(12-Month Fixed Term Contract)
The Dieri Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (TDAC) is looking for an Implementation Project Officer with extensive project skills to ensure the Corporation can deliver culturally appropriate outcomes. The role will support the effectiveness of the CEO’s office, and as such will interact with the TDAC Board, Members and External Parties by using initiative and resourcefulness to undertake a wide variety of high-level functions and tasks associated with strategic leadership.
SCOPE:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (or their delegate), the Implementation Project Officerrole is to lead and facilitate mining company projects, ensuring the delivery of culturally appropriate outcomes in alignment with the goals of The Dieri Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC.
THE IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT OFFICER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Providing support to the TDAC Board of Directors consultation agreements and meetings with Mining Companies.
- Working closely with Mining Company Representives regarding agreements (new & old), as the main contact person.
- Establishing a Negotiation Team, who will be the go between for the CEO and TDAC Board of Directors.
- Setting the Term of Reference of the Negotiation Team, in line with the requirements from the CEO and TDAC Board of Directors.
- Leading and providing Administrative support to the Negotiation Team, which includes planning and co-ordination of committee members.
- Co-ordinating and scheduling meetings with Mining Companies including logistics & budget estimates.
- Communicating with TDAC members to provide feedback, as part of the consultation process.
- Providing updates to members regarding mining negotiations.
- Calculating budget estimates to support community meetings throughout the negotiation process, (working closely with the Finance Manager).
- Reporting to the CEO and the TDAC Board of Directors regarding recommendations that need to be implemented.
- Providing updates to the CEO and the TDAC Board of Directors on Mining Companies progress of the negotiations process.
- Working closely with the Executive Assistant, by providing reports and updates to the TDAC Board of Directors on Mining Companies progress.
- Working with the Cultural Heritage Project Officer as it relates to work heritage clearance survey’s (when required).
- Working with Mining Companies to deliver Cultural outcomes.
- Development of templates for Community and Social Initiative projects offered by Mining Companies.
- Exploring Community and Social initiatives and projects, by implementing these in line with TDAC objectives.
- Development of a policy and procedure for the process of engagement between TDAC and Mining Companies.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Experience in project management and community engagement.
- Strong research, communication (verbal and written), and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of relevant Mining Acts and Industry.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to Cultural Heritage preservation.
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding.
- Proficiency in Office Software and Systems (Microsoft Office, Scheduling software, etc.).
- Experience working in a not for profit organisation.
DESIRABLE:
- Experience with the preparation of budget estimates
- Experience working with Aboriginal people and Communities (preferred)
- Must have a current Drivers Licence
- National Police Clearance Check is required
