The successful candidate will be providing legal expertise toward commercial decision making and commercial contracting and ensuring that all operations of the organisation are conducted within acceptable parameters highlighting business risks and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. This is an opportunity to take up a key role within an expanding legal team.
This is a newly created role that will report into a Senior Legal Counsel and Regional General Counsel. These legal leaders will be excellent touchpoints for your development. We are seeking interest from candidates who are looking for a intermediate level role that offers plenty of variety to provide advice on:

• corporate and commercial matters;
• legislative compliance;
• complex legal negotiations;
• commercial contracting; and
• legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the business group.

We are seeking candidates with:

• 3+ years post-qualified legal experience working within private practice at a large law firm (preferably top-tier) or an relevant in-house team.
• Backgrounds in energy, resources, infrastructure or other heavy industry.
• Have an independent, self-motivated approach, sound commercial judgement with a results driven mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to present ideas, perspectives and issues to senior leaders.

The role offers hybrid working style, days in the Brisbane CBD office and days WFH. The role will require some travel (including international).
