Your new role
This is a full-time temporary assignment which is anticipated to run for approximately 6 months. Reporting to a Principal Lawyer, you will provide legal support and matter management for the Property and Projects business unit within the Council's Legal Services division, on a range of property and local government matters, as well as general legal and policy issues.
Duties will include:- preparing dealings for lodgement and managing the registration process on PEXA in accordance with all applicable rules and the Council's procedures, while maintaining an organised filing system for dealings;
- preparing and drafting covenants and restrictions in relation to property matters;
- preparing draft deeds and agreements for review by the solicitors in the team;
- undertaking legal research.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have tertiary qualifications in legal studies with demonstrated experience in law or legal practice. You will have previous experience in property law matters, including experience and knowledge of PEXA transactions. Also required is a high level of written and oral communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously while managing workloads and supporting a team.
