We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Team Leader, or an outstanding Support Worker ready to take the next step in their career. We are seeking a dynamic individual who can naturally inspire and mentor our team of dedicated Support Workers. You will excel at coordinating services and thinking on your feet. Possession of exceptional communication skills and tech-savviness are paramount.
As a Team Leader and a valued member of our Inclusion Services team, you will be supported by an experienced and supportive management team, as well as an accredited organisation who have been operating in the industry for close to 50 years.
Role Title: Team Leader - Inclusion Services
Location: Bega - Far South Coast NSW
Primarily based at Tulgeen’s Inclusion Services Centre - Insync, Merimbula Insync, Grevillea House (AIG) and other locations, as occasionally required.
Role Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide general directives and guidance to Disability Support Workers who support clients accessing Tulgeen's Inclusion Services, while also maintaining effective working relationships with families and advocates of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general guidance and support to employees working with program participants including complex needs and Behavioural Support Plan clients;
- Communicate directly with families and advocates through daily communication books and phone calls necessary to maintain effective relationships;
- Monitor, provide mentoring and review casual trainees and regular worker performance in collaboration with the People, Culture and Quality Manager as well as the Inclusion Services Manager, and report on training and development requirements;
- Regularly update and check MYP System information for program participants including complex needs and Behavioural Support Plan clients;
- Quarterly updates- check client Information on the Management System so information is up to date
- Organise daily timetables and complete daily variations in rosters
- Provide Roster with fortnightly staffing requirements
- Utilise Outlook calendar to schedule tasks, reports, reminders
- Develop formal written competencies for Staff working with program participants including complex needs and Behavioural Support Plan clients;
- Facilitate the completion and upkeep of formal written competencies for all workers working with program participants including complex needs and Behavioural Support Plan clients;
- Develop and deliver activities and opportunities to enhance the daily outcomes for participants
- Follow up on incident reports and sign off, actions and outcomes.
- Complete minutes for workplace meetings and upload to SharePoint file
- Adhere to organisation policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Maintain consumables stock levels and advise Administration of ordering requirements including personal care products, care supplies;
- Maintain First aid kits – review 3 monthly
- Fire Drills - conduct quarterly fire drills – record and scan information into folder
- Maintain vehicle maintenance – services, registration checks
- Check client medication expiry dates
- Maintain and update respite folder information
- Scan and file cross infection sheets
- Monitoring the wellbeing of clients and advocating for their needs with all internal /External Services.
- Provide assistance in the weekly staffing requirements for program participants including complex needs and Behavioural Support Plan clients;
- Provide general supports including personal care changes and PEG feeds;
- Facilitate and attend meetings as required;
- Oversee daily cleaning of equipment and environment;
- Shopping online for weekly supplies and provide shopping list and weekly menu plans in folders
- Attend On-Call duties as rostered.
Reporting: Reporting to the Inclusion Services Coordinator with occasional reporting to the Inclusion Services Manager
Essential Skills or Experience:
- 2 years previous experience working with clients requiring complex care and Positive Behavioural Support.
- Knowledge and application of the National Standards for Disability Services.
- Knowledge and understanding of ‘Restrictive Practice’ and the related compliance requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of ‘Quality and Safeguarding Framework’ and the related compliance requirements.
- Organised and able to effectively prioritise work and meet deadlines according to the requirements
Desirable Skils or Experience:
- Knowledge and application of the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators
- Experience using Microsoft 365 including SharePoint
- Experience using CRM systems e.g., MYP
Desirable Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Individual Support or Allied Industry Certificate
- Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Essential Requirements:
- Cleared NDIS Worker Check
- Cleared WWC Check
- Current Drivers licence
- First Aid Certificate
Performance Goals:
- Complete scheduled and directed tasks on time.
- Adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of complex care and behavioral supports with person centered approaches.
- Take full responsibility for the principle requirements as defined for the role.
Suitable candidates will be required to attend a Functional Assessment, at the expense of Tulgeen, with a physiotherapist of our choosing located in the Bega Valley.
