Independent Living Unit Coordinator

About the role
 
As Independent Living Unit (ILU) Coordinator, you will work with the residents and General Manager to provide case management and facilitate care and health services for the residents of the retirement village. You will promote the wellbeing of residents and the health of the community in which they live.
This role is based at our Shared Services Office in Warabrook, with travel to our ILU in the Newcastle Hunter Region as required.
 
Your main duties will include:
  • Ensure the effective welcome and orientation of new residents to the village and a smooth and supportive process of people leaving their units for transition into care.
  • Support residents to maintain and enhance a happy and strong community.
  • Support and encourage residents in the development of their activities and lifestyle and in their contribution to the community.
About you:
  • Extensive experience in facilitating positive outcomes for aged care recipients.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the retirement village sector and associated legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft programs, including Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team.
  • Experience building relationships with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service role.
  • Show an active commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
