We require an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our team of professionals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- studying functional statements, organisational charts and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication
- establishing work measurement programs and analysing work samples to develop standards for labour utilisation
- analysing workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data and production schedules and costs to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies
- designing mechanical equipment, machines, components, products for manufacture, and plant and systems for construction
- developing specifications for manufacture, and determining materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities and layout of plant and systems
- organising and managing project labour and the delivery of materials, plant and equipment
- establishing standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations
- inspecting plant to ensure optimum performance is maintained
- directing the maintenance of plant buildings and equipment, and coordinating the requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules
- Reviewing production schedules, processes, specifications, and related information.
- Designing production processes that maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Developing and implementing process improvements and technological upgrades.
- Designing control systems to minimize costs and production issues.
- Developing design and production standards in cooperation with management and user personnel.
- Preparing material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses, and estimated production costs.
- Designing the layout of facilities and determining personnel requirements.
- Training staff for new processes and providing instructions and manuals.
- Managing process documentation and preparing production reports.
Essential skills and experience needed:
- Detailed knowledge assembly and manufacturing techniques
- Efficient self and project management capabilities
- A creative and innovative thinker, who is not afraid to suggest outside of the square solutions
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills with other team members
- At least 5 years or more experience in manufacturing industry (Automotive experience is preferred)
- High degree of skill using Axapta
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Passion and creativity in solving design challenges
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical attitude

- Knowledge of the quality management system ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949
- Knowledge of MRP and ERP
- Excellent knowledge of CRM tools.
- Production managing and planning experience
- Strong project management skills and the ability for scheduling and budgeting
- Knowledge Lean and Six sigma methodologies
- Leading and implementing a full and continuous Development Program to deliver year-on-year productivity improvements, utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and other Kaizen tools & techniques across all areas of production,
- Advanced modelling, utilising the very latest simulation and statistical tools (SPSS)
- Plant layout design for optimising flow of materials and of finished goods using tools,
- Design and implementation of product specific production cells,
- Design and implement product and process improvements for allocated production areas,
- Mentor your peers in all aspects of manufacturing/production/process engineering,
- Ensure safety and OH&S standards are implemented, maintained, and improved.
Qualifications
- Industrial Engineering background preferred (An Australian degree is preferred)
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification
