Infection Prevention and Control Lead Dental
Location: Hybrid
Reports to: Principal Dental Officer
Employment type: Part Time – 2 days per week (15.2 hours)
Base hourly rate: $48 - $49 per hour

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated infection Prevention and Control Lead to join our clinical team. This role will establish and uphold Infection Prevention and sterilisation protocols within the clinical setting, ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and uphold site-specific policies and standard operating procedures
- Review and update existing policies to align with guidelines, national, state and local guidelines.
- Act as a resource for the dental team, facilitating the implementation of evidence based practices
- Maintain accurate records, permits and licenses
- Provide Infection Prevention and sterilisation education and training for all personnel
- Monitor compliance with policies through observations, checklists and other methods
- Maintain effective relationships within Bupa and with external agencies
- Ensure compliance with Infection Control and sterilisation practices
- Promote a safe work environment and assist with staff education
Qualifications and Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in a hospital, primary health care or similar environment
- Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Possession of a Sterilising Certificate III or equivalent is highly desirable
- Post graduate certificate or diploma in Infection Control
- Knowledge of Infection Control principles, including the ASNZ Standard 4187 and 4815 (retired)
- Desirable: Member of a professional body for sterilisation (e.g, SRACA)

- Advanced planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in managing and maintaining compliance and current control standards
