Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing services to around 80,000 urban and rural customers along the Murray River. Our service region lies within the traditional lands of First Nations Peoples, starting from Barapa Barapa (Koondrook), travelling downstream along the Murray River through Latji Latji (Mildura) and flowing to Ngintait at the South Australian border. With over 200 staff located in and around Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Robinvale, our vision is for a healthy, sustainable water future.
LMW Infrastructure Services Department has commenced delivery of 5 years of capital works worth more than $100M, and we are seeking new recruits be a part of this exciting program. We are looking for a diverse range of skills in infrastructure planning, project delivery and construction supervision. Upcoming planning and delivery works include brand new $30M water treatment plant, $30M watermains construction, $10M urban pressure enhancement project, $6M reclaimed water dam and many more, projected to total over $300M in the next 10 years. Roles are based in either our Mildura or Swan Hill Office (depending on the role) in Victoria’s north west.
Key responsibilities of the Land Development Team role include:- Provide technical advice to customers of LMW on subdivision matters relating to water supply, sewerage, irrigation and drainage.
- Investigate, prepare written reports, develop agreements and calculate development fees and charges.
- Provide inspection and technical direction where required during construction of developments under the Developer Design Construct model.
- Review ITP’s, CCTV, Compaction and Pressure Tests results to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Develop long-term strategies for water and rural infrastructure.
- Maintain a 50-year horizon master plan for water and rural infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain a 10-year capital works plan for water and rural infrastructure.
- Maintain hydraulic models for water and rural infrastructure.
- Plan for renewals, upgrading, and decommissioning of Lower Murray Water assets.
- Delivery of major capital works, applying established project management techniques, construction supervision and support, contractor management and engineering skills.
- Provide leadership, support and guidance to your team.
- Provide engineering and technical support to Projects team members and other departments within LMW to ensure that designs and works are delivered to the required standard.
- Support the development of Project scopes, plans and schedules and supporting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses where required.
- Engage and support external designers, consultants and contractors, ensuring their work is completed within the terms of the Contract and safely achieves the required outcomes.
- Engage and coordinate stakeholders during the development and execution of work including operations, contractors and external agencies.

About you:We require self-motivated people who are safety conscious looking to work in a fast-paced team environment. To be successful in these roles, you would ideally have some of the following;
- Experience in strategic planning or asset management to drive the development and implementation of business cases and strategies for the future capital expenditure and pricing paths at LMW.
- Experienced tradesperson, engineer or project manager with experience in the civil construction or water industry
- Analytical thinkers with experience in delivering innovative technical solutions and an eye for detail
- Good communication skills and an ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Ability to contribute to a safety orientated culture and ensuring the safety and quality of execution activities.
