About the role
This is a great opportunity to join EMPHN in the newly developed role of Training and Support Officer (TSO), working closely with key internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and drive implementation of the National IAR Guidance at the regional level.
This role will provide support to General Practitioners (GPs), clinicians and commissioned service providers within primary health care to utilise the Initial Assessment and Referral (IAR) tool for a person presenting for mental health assistance. The TSO will work closely with internal and external teams to drive implementation and develop processes with the aim to achieve nationally consistent care for persons presenting with similar conditions, and will be responsible for the design and implementation of a detailed project plan and communications strategy.
About you
- Proven experience in the health sector, preferably primary care sector;
- experience in change development and the ability to proactively lead change while bringing people along on the journey;
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management;
- A demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment, collaboratively and warmly;
- Excellent communication skills, you will have a demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport with external and internal stakeholders;
- Ability to coordinate and provide data driven recommendations;
- Flexibility and agility to move with changing environments.

Eastern Melbourne PHN (EMPHN) is one of the major commissioners of federally-funded health care services in Melbourne, with responsibility for improving the primary health care system. We do this by facilitating health system improvements for people in the eastern and north eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
This is a Part Time 0.5 FTE (3 days per week) for 12-month limited time contract, but there is a possibility of extension.
