At RAAFA, we understand that every employee is different, and sustaining a work-related injury can be daunting and stressful. That is why we have a well-established early intervention programme, led by our Injury Prevention and Management Advisor, to support our team should an injury occur.
We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Injury Prevention and Management Advisor to join the RAAFA team on a permanent basis, working collaboratively with others to deliver the best care and recovery options to injured employees. Supporting our managers and employees, this fast-paced role will have a regular presence out on location and will work closely with our teams to provide consultation and support in both the Prevention and Management of work-related injuries.
(Suited to either full-time or 0.8 FTE for the right candidate, you will be based from RAAFA’s Central Support Office in South Perth with the requirement to travel to sites within the Metro area).
About the role:
- Injury prevention – Provision of consultation, advice and education strategies for the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries including coordination of the manual tasks program, workstation assessments, ergonomic advice and risk assessments
- Delivery of education and training to staff and managers
- Early Intervention – Provision of effective early intervention support strategies to staff to achieve the best possible outcome following an injury
- Injury Management – work closely with managers and staff to ensure effective vocational rehabilitation & return to work programs
- Facilitate the use of suitably sourced external allied health providers in a proactive capacity, supporting employees across RAAFA to remain healthy and well
- Workers’ Compensation and Claims Management – Day to day claims management, including liaising with all key stakeholders such as treating parties, insurers, and external providers to facilitate early return to work
Key Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy, Allied Health, Nursing or related field
- Experience in WHS and/or Injury Management practices
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to communicate effectively to influence positive outcomes with managers, staff and other key stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
- Excellent presentation skills and demonstrated experience in delivering manual handling training
- Excellent organisational skills including high attention to detail
