A rare opportunity from a boutique Insolvency Practice in Melbourne CBD for an enthusiastic and driven Senior Insolvency Accountant to join their team.
The role
CJG Advisory is currently looking for a Senior Insolvency Accountant or Supervisor. This is a dynamic and challenging role where you will be assisting the Senior Manager with the planning and control of Corporate and Personal Insolvency jobs from pre-appointment to completion. As a Senior Insolvency Accountant in a small practice, you will be required to guide, support, and mentor the junior staff within your team, giving you a platform to develop and hone your management skills which will in turn provide an excellent stepping stone for you to progress to the next role in your career. Applicants should note that the role requires attendance in the office and/or at an on-site location a minimum of 4 days per week with the flexibility to work from home one day as nominated by the Principal.
The suitable applicant will be either a qualified Senior or Supervisor/AM who has comprehensive experience in managing VA’s, CVL’s, and ideally Personal Insolvency and who aspires to establish their career in Insolvency.
Skills and qualifications required:
- A minimum of 4 years of Corporate Insolvency experience in managing files, liaising with creditors/stakeholders in various administrations and experience in all types of assignments, including Court Liquidations, VA's, CVL's and Receiverships and ideally Personal Insolvency.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or similar
- Be either CA or CPA-qualified or near completion
- Experience with Australian legislation applicable to insolvency.
- Strong investigation skills and a record in the successful recovery of voidable transactions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders
- Outstanding attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proven time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of Xero, Core IPS
- Computer literate: (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- A team-focused approach, able to work productively with all levels in the team from administrative support staff to principal
- Willingness to monitor/mentor junior staff.
