Our client is an award-winning independent firm with over 90 partners across their offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Your New Role
As a key member of the team, you will provide relevant legal advice the practice's General Insurance clients across a range of medical indemnity and health law litigation matters and inquiries including:

• Managing Coronial inquiries and disciplinary proceedings as against health entities and individual practitioners
• Providing advice to insurers on cover, predominantly professional indemnity and medical indemnity insurance
• Reviewing medical and health records
• Preparing briefs for Counsel and expert witnesses
• Drafting court documents, settlement deeds and Medical Panel referrals
• Preparing advice including on indemnity, liability, prospects, quantum, reserves and strategy
• Coaching and mentoring junior practitioners

This is an opportunity that will see you sit across different streams of insurance work including work in the recoveries space, if that is of interest.

Your Skills Profile

• 4+ years PAE in medical or health law litigation (background in plaintiff, Workcover will also be considered)
• Ability to manage competing priorities effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Strong time management skills;
• Highly organised, able to plan and prioritise work to meet key deliverables
• A professional, client focused and ethical approach
• A resilient nature with the ability to remain calm under pressure
