Intake Coordinator
- Full-time role, 12-month fixed term opportunity
The newly established NMHPA provides a broad range of sensitive health and wellbeing support services to nurses, midwives and students that is free, confidential and independent. We offer care and support in a welcoming, compassionate and non-judgmental environment where nurses, midwives and students have a safe place to connect and heal. Our services are offered on a national basis through a telehealth service where qualified and experienced team members provide consultations when and where needed.
We are seeking a registered Nurse and or Midwife who will act as the initial contact point for participants requiring NMHPA’s services. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to maintaining the professional nature of the nursing and midwifery profession and a deep understanding of the profession. The person in this role will be able to communicate with a wide range of people to conduct first-response triage, assessment and counselling services before allocating relevant clinicians and arranging future appointments.
The responsibilities in this key role include:
- Ensure initial participant contact communicates NMHPA’s range of services in a manner that is welcoming and compassionate.
- Conduct initial participant assessment ensuring arrangements are made for ongoing support.
- Work closely with the clinicians to ensure the relevant services are provided.
- Ensure regular case reviews are conducted and actions are completed.
- Ensure documentation is completed and stored appropriately.
To be successful in the role, you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification in nursing/midwifery or other relevant qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of the nursing and midwifery professions.
- Extensive experience working in a medical trauma environment.
- Active listening skills with the ability to work with people in distress.
- Experience in initial intervention counselling.
- Knowledge of relevant nursing and midwifery referral pathways.
- Proven track record of working with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Strong ability to work with others to achieve beneficial outcomes.
- Extensive knowledge of the nursing and midwifery professions.
- Highly developed interpersonal and relationship skills.
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working on staff health and wellbeing programs.
The gross annual base salary is circa. $105 000 - $115 000, depending on the relevant state or territory public sector agreement, plus superannuation.
