About the role
We are seeking a dedicated (permanent, full time) Intake Coordinator for our 14 bed Geelong Withdrawal Unit in Corio, VIC. The successful candidate will coordinate the acceptance of referrals received for the Withdrawal Unit to facilitate efficient entry of clients into the service.
Responsibilities include
Ensure all clients are linked into appropriate services
Provide clients with brief interventions
Coordinate review of referrals working in conjunction with the Nursing Team Leader, AOD Program Coordinator and the Visiting Medical Officer (GP)
Maintain bed register and waitlist for Geelong Withdrawal Unit
Organise Mental Health Suicide Risk Assessment for clients identified at risk
Maintain knowledge of AOD related developments and service sector reforms
What you will have
Minimum Diploma in AOD or related health and community services Diploma with the 4 AOD core units OR
Undergraduate studies in AOD or related field and Core AOD Units
Minimum 3 years experience within AOD/Mental Health sector
Experience and resilience working with complex AOD/Mental Health clients whom present challenging behaviours
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with excellent time management
Well developed computer skills including Email, Word, Excel, Microsoft Office
