This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Integrations – Project Engineer based in Melbourne, or Sydney to join our Flexible Demand team.
The Integrations – Project Engineer will be responsible for Project Managing Minor Works programs of work on customer sites to help scale Flex market benefits for customers using BESS, load curtailment, and Generator operation among other assets. You will need to deliver contracted programs of work through managing suppliers and contractors to internal PMO standards, compatible with internal operational systems and market rules.
You will help build out the processes and procedures to help standardise design and delivery of these customer side systems in 2024, enabling further growth in 2025. This role involves working closely with the Team Lead – Flex Systems & Integrations to ensure systems interfaces are compatible with site works, and market compliance is met.
With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
- Manage Contractors & Suppliers ensuring safety, quality and on time delivery within budget;
- Work with the Project Management Office in AMP (Assets Management & Projects team) to comply with contractor and supplier onboarding guidelines;
- Manage controls suppliers from specification, FDS development/review and approval through to installation, testing and commissioning.
- Take contracted Demand Flexibility projects from sales handover through supplier, contractor and customer management to deliver revenue;
- Ensure the project complies with market rules, is compatible with Shell Energy Flex Systems, and works operationally end to end (from site through to market);
- Work with Asset management and Flex Operations on Asset handovers, and improve the process for optimal outcomes;
- Develop new Functional Design Specifications for suppliers to work to & input Tech Stack where there are opportunities for continuous improvement;
- Involvement in setting the budget for major dispatch systems developments through the Shell Energy business planning process;
- Involvement on site developing specification during the sales process, to contribute to high quality outcomes; and
- Work with sales to improve and standardise Requests For Information (RFIs) and other templates.
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Extensive experience in controls projects and/or program management of minor projects;
- Contractor and Supplier management for delivery;
- Commercially astute, with strong financial management, supplier management, and negotiation skills;
- Understanding of project management methodologies and Contract Management;
- Technical understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems – and controls systems through to software;
- General understanding of energy markets in Australia desired;
- Experience managing numerous parallel minor works contracts at the same time;
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders;
- Resilient, engaging and passionate about motivating team members to drive exceptional outcomes for projects; and
- Ability to develop and maintain high quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external.
