About the role:

This position is required to assist Bass Coast Crime Investigation Unit (EBSCIU), by supporting the investigators regarding a broad range of office and computer-based tasks which support service delivery and the capability in the units supported.  This includes and is not limited to collection, collating and evaluation of information and intelligence data, office administration, filing, archival storage and retrieval.

Outside of the normal duties of the ISO, other responsibilities outside of their remits include, create Offender Debrief IRs, value add and triage unit Information Reports, Performing NEO and SASEG checks, Update Interpose shells with Brief Book numbers, check Brief Books to update court dates and results, type witness statements for members if/when required.

Your duties will include:

  • Dealing with sensitive and highly confidential information
  • Creating Interpose investigation shells
  • Changing status of investigation as it progresses
  • Auditing Interpose security group
  • Ensuring brief book number is entered on Interpose
  • Updating court dates and effective to date on Interpose investigations
  • Ensuring all person, location and vehicle entities are linked to investigation shells
  • Uploading all non-authorised briefs to Interpose
  • Uploading hand up briefs to Interpose
  • Uploading inquest briefs to Interpose
  • Uploading investigation documents to Interpose, including all statements
  • Assisting with Information Reports value adding for the I&R Unit
  • Creating boxes for filing
  • Filing completed briefs and investigation files together
  • Archiving and destruction of records according to retention guidelines
  • Maintain a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders

  • Proactive in managing own self care – theme at times can be disturbing

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available:20026302
  • This position is located at the Wonthaggi Police Complex, 75 Watt Street, Wonthaggi.  
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
