The Interconnection Program Manager will serve as a key member of the Sales Engineering team, assisting Tesla grid connection activities across the APAC region for utility-scale battery storage projects. This role reports directly to the Sales Engineering Manager and is accountable for the program, budget, and commercial management of the delivery of Connection Applications andR1 studies working with the internal team. The position involves high-level technical and management responsibilities, acting as a Program Manager to support different engineering teams on executing interconnection scope.
This is a full-time position, based in Melbourne or Sydney.
- Assist with key relationships, processes, and the delivery of Tesla APAC energy storage system connections, including early-stage Connection Applications and R1 studies.
- Coordinate with and manage Sales, Product and Power System Engineering to ensure timely submittals for all required studies/documentation related to interconnection processes for connection application and R1 studies.
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of documentation related to interconnection processes for connection application and R1 studies.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, monitoring progress against milestones.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure accurate recording and communication of relevant information to stakeholders.
- Assist with stakeholders such as TNSPs, DNSPs, grid operators, contractors, and internal teams.
- Support coordination among different teams like Tesla policy teams and internal technical teams to ensure key NER developments and reforms are addressed as an on-going program.
- Help technical teams to select and manage consultants in relation to grid modelling, including Generator Performance Standard and R1 packages.
- Responsible for overseeing the tracking and coordination of requested product and firmware updates and functionalities in collaboration with the Product and Engineering teams, to ensure timely delivery of updates in alignment with committed project timelines.
- 4+ years of experience in Interconnection Program administration or program management in the energy or renewable industry.
- Bachelor's degree required. Engineering preferred or Business Administration
- Basic knowledge of grid Connection knowledge and experience.
- Basic experience and knowledge of National Electricity Markets and renewable and emergent energy sources.
- Exceptional skills in stakeholder management to support projects and achieve outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence.
- Extensive project planning and management capability with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects and tasks in parallel.
