THE ROLE
Reporting to the Executive Director, Disability Reform and Complex Needs, this role will be responsible for providing high-level strategic leadership across the Complex Needs and Forensic Disability portfolio.
The role will lead stakeholder engagement, service design, program management and operational support, and will provide authoritative, strategic, and innovative advice to the Executive Director, Deputy Secretary, the Minister, and the Executive Leadership Team.
The Director leads the policy and program support to the delivery of services delivery of services to clients with Complex Needs and Forensic Disability services. The role drives improved service responses and outcomes for vulnerable clients. This includes through policy and program support to Forensic Disability, Serious Offenders Coordination, Multiple and Complex Needs Initiative, High Risk Tenancies and children and families with complex disability needs.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Lead the policy and program support to the delivery of services to clients with Complex Needs and Forensic Disability interface to improve service response and outcomes for vulnerable clients.
- Provide authoritative strategic advice and briefings in accordance with government policy and program directions to Ministers, Secretary, departmental senior management and external stakeholders regarding the implementation of the Division's and governments priorities.
- Develop and drive effective consultative mechanisms with stakeholders, including the community services sector, external peak bodies and government, to ensure stakeholders' views, including service users, are canvassed in the development of policy strategies, programs and initiatives.
