The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking an Inventory Assistant who will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of service excellence in the effective daily operations of the NGV Design store inventory requirements.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
As directed, you will use the computerised inventory system to receive, check, register and prepare stock accurately for sale, ensuring appropriate stock maintenance and storage across multiple locations and daily EOF email updated are provided to the Retail team. Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in maintaining the integrity of the NGV’s inventory database, ensuring accurate records and effective procedures are maintained at all times.
- Liaising with NGV design store suppliers to ensure accurate invoicing, deliveries are quality checked, and appropriate processing procedures are completed in a timely manner.
- Collating, packing, booking, and despatching all online restocks, complimentary artist stock, internal catalogues requirements as directed and product couriering where needed.
- Regularly restocking of bulk stock and related materials (POS bags) during exhibition times, setting-up and bumping-out of all exhibition merchandise programs.
To be successful you will have appropriate experience in a retail inventory position with inventory software for processing of stock, data maintenance and data retrieval. You regularly plan and track progress on work tasks, taking an organised, methodical approach to work and addressing priority tasks first. You will be proactive and self-starting, seizing opportunities and acting upon them, and takes responsibility for your own actions. You observe fine details, identifying gaps in information, looks for problems in information and highlights practical considerations of plans and activities.
