About the opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Merchandise Inventory Planner, this role will support the broader Supply Chain team to drive sales while improving capital outcomes through optimization of inventory and product lifestyle management, whilst maintaining service levels.
Working closely with the Senior Merchandise Inventory Planner, the primary focus will be accountability for effectively managing inventory across the Uniform portfolio, and within prescribed budget and KPI’s.
This is a key cross functional role which requires heavy engagement with stakeholders across the organization including state operational networks, retail, warehousing and fulfilment, category management, finance, and external suppliers.
What you’ll deliver with us
- Forecasting demand and management of inventory associated with the Uniforms portfolio across operations and retail networks and team members.
- Day to day management of warehouse and store stocks whilst driving effective use of working capital.
- Assist with preparation of annual sales, margin and inventory budgets for Uniforms.
- Assist with Planning activities across Merchandise Inventory if required
- Contribute to implementing process improvements to enhance Post’s capabilities in the disciplines of inventory and product lifecycle management and the achievement of key inventory, cost and service performance targets and measures.
- Assist with providing support to the operational network with queries regarding fulfilment of Uniforms, store ranging, grading, in stocks and stock availability.
About you
You will have demonstrated experience in understanding and managing typical merchandise planning functions, processes and systems that support the supply chain, fulfilment and distribution of inventories, including typical replenishment and allocation strategies and systems.
You will be able to build relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of organization and ability to influence and advise external suppliers to achieve desired outcomes.
You’ll also need
- 2 to 4 years’ relevant merchandise planning and /or unit planning experience in multi category retailing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage across multiple product portfolio’s.
- Advance Skills in the Microsoft office suite of products (particularly Excel).
- Experience working in a multi system operational IT environment particularly Supply Chain operations, SAP experience essential.
