Inventory & Purchasing Assistant

Mildura Fruit Company packs and markets a full range of citrus fruits sourced from more than 120 growers in the horticultural regions of Sunraysia, Riverland and Riverina to destinations around the world. Our experience in the industry has also enabled us to diversify from marketing solely citrus to becoming an exporter of a wide range of fruits.

We have an administrative type opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated  person to join our team and play a crucial part in the team’s success.

About the Role

Reporting to the Inventory & Purchasing Manager, you will work with various teams across the business to ensure stock levels are maintained for efficient and consistent production. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Order packing materials and other items as necessary
• Ensure paperwork for defective goods is completed and actioned.
• Liaise with pallet carriers daily to ensure movement.
• Ensure Woolworths/ Aldi crate levels are maintained.
• Assist with non-conformance administration.
• Monitoring invoices and receipting purchase orders
• Data entry
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) sheets and manuals.
• Assist in Monthly Stock take counting and data entry

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience within a similar role
• Well-developed critical analysis, investigation and problem solving skills
• Ability to meet deadlines without compromising close attention to detail and accuracy
• Well developed work planning and organisation skills, and demonstrated ability to address fluctuating work demands and changing priorities
• Strong work ethic with a focus on results, willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities over time
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skill with a demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise effectively with suppliers and staff.
• Good computer literacy, including strong knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft suite and computer-based systems.
