The Role
Reporting to “Operations” you will be required to follow and make suggestions to improve systems and ways of working to ensure this is maintained. You will ensure compliance with financial policies and ensure audits are completed without major non-conformances relating to inventory.
What you will do:
- Implement and monitor inventory SOPs for rigorous adoption
- Adequately train relevant personnel to maintain accurate recording of stock movement and transactions
- Manage inventory through ongoing cycle count programs and regular reports
- Execute and report on inventory stock adjustments on a regular basis for all locations
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, processing adjustments as necessary and update records in accordance with procedures
- Assist with and learn colleagues roles
- Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues
- Implement and co-ordinate housekeeping procedures, including back-ups, setting up user accounts, monitoring file access, checking logs etc.
- Ensure the network infrastructure and systems are documented to a level which facilitates knowledge transfer between team members.
- Provide updates with relevant internal personnel
- Respond to customer email enquiries
- Coordinate the implementation of System Upgrades from planning through to completion
- Manage relationships with all stakeholders including clients, suppliers, subcontractors and other internal divisions
- Create detailed work instructions for any new processes or procedures implemented
- Create metrics and develop reporting on KPI’s
Desired experience, skills, and traits:
- Detailed understanding of inventory management practices within a 3PL business
- Extensive experience implementing inventory management within a major ERP system
- Full understanding of inventory control processes and ability to work in a stand-alone role.
- Strong analytical ability and experience in developing metrics to measure and improve operational capabilities.
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to think strategically and alongside senior management
- Experience with troubleshooting and supporting hardware, network and software systems
- Previous experience in the application of WMS Technology within a Warehouse/3PL environment
- Previous experience interacting with external Customers
- Good interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of an organization
- Outstanding communication skills; verbal and written
- An ability to work and contribute as part of a team; see beyond job role, department and division to what matters to the entire business
- Be confident, flexible, persistent, driven and not be afraid to jump on the floor when required during peak periods
Essential:
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Willing to adapt and learn
- Prioritise and manage tasks and time.
- Ability to troubleshoot and (b) resolve technical issues both hardware and software.
- Advance Knowledge of WMS systems
- Previous experience in an inventory processing role
- LO/LF Fork Lift License
