Maurice J Kerrigan & Associates is seeking new or experienced contract based Surveillance/ Circumstance Investigators to conduct Investigative work to meet our client work inflow and demand. Maurice J Kerrigan & Associates is a national Investigation Industry leader who provide services to major national insurers, government departments and public sector.
Experienced Investigators already working in the Insurance Investigation industry should apply.
Successful contract Investigators who perform investigative enquiries, will be allocated files for the purpose of generating a report addressing matters for which our clients are seeking information, evidence and clarity.
We are seeking investigators in areas such as, but not limited to Melbourne, Geelong, Frankston, Footscray, Broadmeadows, Narre Warren and regional areas with a view to a long term work relationship.
Training and Induction:
As part of our induction and training, successful applicants will learn industry standards, client guidelines and be provided with the knowledge to conduct a variety of Investigation types. Successful applicants will be conducting enquiries via both their home office and attending locations for the purpose of progressing an investigation. Successful applicants will learn guidelines and industry standards from experienced Investigators.
Upon completion of an induction period that is dependent on the successful applicants existing knowledge, experience and personal circumstances or commitments, the applicant will be offered contract based work.
The working hours for Circumstance Investigators are flexible according to the applicants personal circumstances and those of the persons involved in an investigation. Many investigations are conducted during Monday-Friday between 6 am to 6 pm., however can also occur on weekends and after hours. Surveillance Investigators will need to work weekends where necessary.
Responsibilities and Job Description
Your responsibilities will be to ensure that you time manage an allocated investigation; ensure that all key stakeholders are kept updated and identify potential delays or sensitivities.
For Circumstance Investigators, Interviews that you will conduct can be Face to Face; via phone or video conference. You will attend to work places for the purposes of taking photos, measurements and where applicable, conduct interviews.
Surveillance Investigators will need to attend locations for observation purposes.
Successful applicants will need to demonstrate interpersonal skills; be competent in the use of a laptop and other computer based programs such as WORD. Successful applicants will also have ongoing access to a vehicle in order to attend investigation locations in a timely manner..
Investigations may be allocated that involve travel within metropolitan and regional areas. A professional dress code is applicable for Circumstance Investigators.
Qualifications
You must hold
• a Certificate III/IV in Investigative Services
• Victorian Security licence with the activity of Investigator.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
• General Insurance Code of Practice Training certificate
The Investigation types that will be initially offered include:
• Workers Compensation
• Compulsory Third Party (CTP – physical injury)
• General Insurance
As a Contractor, you will need to possess:-
• equipment including motor vehicle, laptop computer, portable printer, digital camera or video camera
• internet access
• ABN
Contract remuneration is based on a negotiated hourly and kilometric rate.
