ROLE OVERVIEW
As an Investment Analyst reporting to the Investment Director, you will contribute to our investors’, portfolio companies’ and team’s success by:
- Identifying and assessing investment opportunities from within the investment management industry across APAC in the short term with a global remit in the medium to longer term
- Undertaking thorough due diligence, including financial analysis, deal structuring, and legal negotiations
- Assisting portfolio companies through involvement in strategy formulation and operational enhancements.
In this role you will work closely with the founders of Scarcity Partners and be part of a highly experienced and collaborative team with excellent career growth opportunity.
POSITION DETAILS
Your primary responsibilities will encompass (but are not limited to):
- Participating in the origination, assessment, negotiation, execution, management and growth of investments, with a long-term view
- Conducting detailed domestic and global research to identify investment themes and sectors for the portfolio.
- Creating and maintaining financial models and supporting the analysis of investment opportunities.
- Supporting the preparation of internal investment committee recommendations.
- Participating in and facilitating the investment committee process.
- Participating in the portfolio company valuation process including engagement with advisers and investments.
- Undertaking special projects with portfolio companies to facilitate growth.
- Assisting with investor communication requirements, including liaising with middle and back-office support teams.
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for candidates who possess:
- A genuine interest in investment management firms as a specialist focus
- A relevant degree with a commendable academic track record, especially in analytics and corporate finance
- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting, transaction advisory services or private equity – sector agnostic
- Demonstrated ability to build and review financial models and an understanding of core accounting principles
- A good understanding of valuation concepts
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbally and in writing, with the capacity to clearly express opinions and compile coherent investment documentation
- Personable, having a style which lends itself to working in a focused team environment and able to build strong relationships with advisers, founders and owners
- Highly organised, diligent, reliable, detail-oriented and high paced work ethic.
