It Asset Manager

• 40% WFH opportunity - Canberra Based role
• 12 month contract with a 12-month extension option

We are recruiting an IT Asset Manager on behalf of a Federal Government Agency that is leading Australia's response to climate change and sustainable energy use.  This role is crucial in ensuring efficient and effective management of information technology assets within this Department.

This role involves overseeing the business processes as part of a broader team for acquisition, deployment, utilisation, and disposal of IT assets to support the department's financial requirements and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• IT Assets Acquisition: Collaborate with operational and procurement teams to identify, evaluate, and procure IT assets and equipment required by various teams within the department.
• Asset Inventory Management: Develop and maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and peripherals.
• Asset Deployment and Utilisation: Coordinate the deployment of IT assets to relevant departments, ensuring optimal utilisation and adherence to organisational policies and standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Several years of experience in IT asset management, procurement, or related roles, preferably in a government or large organisation.
• Strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle management principles, processes, and tools. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Essential Selection Criteria

• Experience in implementation, support and management of Software or Hardware ICT Assets.
• Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the position description.
