About the Role
The Agency are currently recruiting for an IT Business Analyst (APS6) to join our team on a Full-time ongoing basis. This team and role support the National Healthcare Interoperability Plan to help sharing consumers health information in a safe, secure and seamless manner to assist in better health outcomes. The APS6 IT Business Analyst is accountable under limited direction to perform complex work that provides detailed technical and professional business analysis, system analysis and design changes that are aligned with the vision and strategic direction of the Agency. This role will have a user design customer focus and be define user stories to help prioritise workloads. Within this role you will have reasonable autonomy and responsibility to develop and document requirements from key stakeholders that will inform, support, and assist the development of project deliverables, program objectives and the strategic direction of the Agency.
The role involves gathering information, demonstrating strong writing abilities, and showcasing excellent listening and communication skills. The IT Business Analyst will have considerable internal stakeholder interaction that includes program, project and product managers, ICT specialist and subject matter experts from across the Agency, together with external stakeholders that may include clinicians, consumers, and the broader Health sector. Within this role you will be partnering with these internal and external stakeholders to drive change and promote the adoption national standards for healthcare software, aiming to unify the nation’s healthcare system. This role requires a candidate who has robust collaborative and facilitative skills which will be instrumental in transforming the healthcare landscape. Within this role you will operate under broad direction with a considerable level of autonomy required. You will be required to make decisions based on professional judgement, evaluate risks and tackle complex problem-solving in a changing environment.

- Exemplary stakeholder engagement skills with a track record in providing sound advice and ability to gain acceptance and cooperation from stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in applying a thorough understanding of business analysis principles and utilising various tools to gather, analyse, research and present solutions.
- Knowledge and experience of applications development methodologies and the software, development lifecycle.
- Previous experience working as a Business Analysis within information technologies or systems analysis.
- Outstanding verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely across technology and business teams.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying, analysing, isolating and interpreting business needs (often conflicting) and generating user stories and requirements.
- Previous experience in producing artefacts best suited for the products and projects, including experience developing BPMN diagrams.
- Strong analytical and design skills with demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Have an understanding of Australia’s healthcare ecosystem.

Salary: $94,456 to $106,563 plus 15.4% Superannuation.
