Overview
Our client is a Federal Government agency, based in Canberra.
They are looking for an experienced (8 years plus) Business Analyst to join their IT team.
The work will be carried out within a software development team environment.
Work will be at least 2 days a week in their Canberra office, the rest WFH. The actual WFH days may be varied at times, depending on the need to be present for workshops on site, etc.
This contract is for an initial 6 months, with potential for a further 12-24 months.
Please note that a minimum security clearance of current Baseline is mandatory to apply for this role. A current NV1 is even better. ** This needs to be on your resume!
Key Accountabilities
As part of this IT project-centric role, you will:
- Be involved with leading a range of stakeholders with regards to workshopping requirements;
- Define user stories;
- Define acceptance criteria;
- Create wireframes;
- Define as-is and to-be for various business processes;
- Articulate options for implementation;
- Collaborate with various sub-agency teams in order to assist with the development of optimal solutions;
- Work with the delivery team with regards to testing efforts;
- Clearly document and annotate all work.
Essential skills
- Firstly, we are only looking for an experienced Business Analyst, so a minimum of 8 years' experience is expected.
- You must have experience working within an IT environment - being part of a software development project team.
- You need to have worked with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- You need to have extensive experience dealing with stakeholders - end user and technical.
- You need to have excellent verbal and written skills (the quality of your resume will act as a guide for us here).
- You need to have extensive experience running workshops.
Qualifications preferred
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications in relevant fields.
As noted above, this contract role is being let with an initial 6 month period and then is expected to be extended for an additional 12-24 months.
