We're now looking for an experienced IT Business Application Manager with a demonstrated track record in delivering projects and new applications from concept to implementation.  

To be successful in this newly created role you will be a strong communicator, able to engage with stakeholders, and enjoy working at both the strategic and a hands-on level. You will need to have solid project management skills, but also a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty when it's needed!

About the Role

Experience with both traditional IT applications and Digital platforms, the Business Application Manager is a key part of the day-to-day operations, as well as leading the implementation of new tools and features.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and conceptualise, develop implement, and review innovative solutions and make sound decisions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions in the challenging and sometimes stressful environment of project management.
  • Sound knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management and project management methodologies, tools, and governance.
  • You will translate complex business requirements into practical system-based solutions and oversee their implementation into production.
  • Lead and manage the development/implementation of system and process improvements.
  • Gather business issues and requirements, then translate it into clear documented functional solution documents.
  • Successfully implement new functionality or projects in accordance with approved baselines.
  • Liaise with key business stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement of existing processes and functionality. Ensure they have to access to clear documentation and procedures for their role.
  • Ensure the BAU activities are running without interruptions.
  • Troubleshoot, and resolve application issues in line with SLA’s.
  • Escalate and follow up with team members, and/or vendors to resolve issues which require involvement from cross-functional teams and/or higher support tiers.
  • Ensure applications/software environments are fully maintained with appropriately supported updates, patches and/or service packs.
  • Work with Vendors, relevant Information Technology teams and business end users to coordinate and facilitate deployment of new software and features. 
  • Investigate and embrace emerging technologies.
  • Comfortable working in agile methodologies & using agile tools and can suggest improvements to ways of working to improve team & product performance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Degree level education - IT, Business or equivalent
  • High level of expertise in maintaining and managing ERPs
  • Advanced skills in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • Proven track record of managing EDI implementation
  • Some practical experience with scripting and programming languages: SQL, PowerShell, PHP, Python or C#
  • Excellent communicator both verbally and written
  • Ability to lead project teams, engage stakeholders, deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Strong organisation skills, time management and attention to detail
  • Positive, ‘can-do’, ‘own-it’ attitude
  • A passion and appetite for all things technology and e-commerce

About You 

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to prioritise and work autonomously, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience managing IT projects
  • Expertise in managing ERP (QAD, MS dynamics)
  • Strong process management skills
  • Strong understanding of key business process (Sales, finance, production, warehousing)
  • Hands-on experience implementing applications and/or features.
  • Experience with SaaS applications.
  • Knowledge and exposure to Digital/eCommerce businesses
