The Role:
Reporting to an inspirational leader, this hands-on partnership role will be a key interface between the IT team and various business streams. The role is key in enabling the business to identify, acquire, rollout and adopt innovative technology solutions that will enable future growth and competitive advantage. The role will also be responsible for improving business unit productivity, efficiency and helping to enhance customer experience. Additional responsibilities of this role will include:
- Business engagement and relationship management - the role will build the profile of IT internally, and will act as a trusted advisor at GM level and assist with strategic planning, business casing and delivering technology roadmaps to help each business unit achieve their goals. The role will put forward strategic initiatives at the leadership level;
- Business analysis and process automation - the role will gather requirements from the business, build business cases and will work closely with operational staff to understand/improve business processes and manage demand;
- Project management - the role will play an active role in supporting the Product and PMO teams and vendors through all phases of the project lifecycle (functional design, development, testing, user liaison, training, deployment planning and execution and post go-live support). The role will work closely with the project delivery team across the full IT lifecycle;
- Change management - the role will work closely with the business to ensure a smooth adoption of new technology initiatives or processes, with the focus of minimising business impact; and
- Innovation and process improvement - the role will identify innovation and automation opportunities through emerging technologies to help solve business problems.
The Successful Candidate:
This role is highly visible in the business, providing key support the GM level stakeholders. Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key experience/capabilities:
- Minimum of three years' experience in a similar IT Business Partner role. This role could suit an IT Manager of a small business who is hands on who is looking for more or an IT Business Partner in a larger environment looking for a new challenge;
- You will have a strong partnership and relationship focus with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- You will be an excellent listener and possess demonstrated experience in developing IT strategic plans and roadmaps that meet business needs;
- You will have proven experience working with PMO and Product teams to drive strategic planning initiatives and delivery;
- You will have CAPEX budget ownership experience and be strong with embedding change and working closely with non-technical stakeholders to ensure high levels of adoption;
- You will be passionate about innovation and helping to solve business challenges through emerging technology; and
- Above all else, you will have a humble, kind, friendly and trustworthy personality, with excellent listening skills.
