About the roleWilson Security is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to drive the success of our Vision and Business Unit Strategy.   • Oversee site performance and presentation per contractual and budgetary obligations.
  • Continuously review contracts and develop action plans to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Plan for future site requirements and make recommendations to the State Operations Manager.
  • Control costs, ensure accurate invoicing, and address anomalies.
  • Act as the primary contact for key clients, resolving issues and improving processes.
  • Monitor and recommend changes to rate structures.
  • Fulfill administrative duties to meet contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Wilson management to review performance and set action plans.
  • Attend client meetings to receive feedback, monitor contract performance, and advise on improvements.
Financials & Reporting
  • Deliver work within budget and timeframe.
  • Manage P&L, ensure accurate reporting, and address budget variances.
  • Oversee subcontractor compliance.
  • Provide regular reports and forecasts on contract performance.
  • Ensure contract compliance and follow up as necessary.
  • Manage annual leave and absenteeism.
Leadership
  • Communicate company policies and best practices.
  • Provide on-site leadership and allocate KPIs to staff.
  • Monitor staff performance and manage accordingly.
  • Coach and train staff to meet business KPIs.
  • Delegate responsibilities and support staff growth.
  • Maintain team morale and resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Handle disciplinary matters and escalate issues to HR promptly.
  • Ensure timely staff deployment and training completion.
Workforce Planning
  • Manage staffing levels to meet contract obligations.
  • Participate in recruitment to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Maintain a relief pool to handle contract fluctuations.
  • Minimize overtime by ensuring adequate resourcing.
  • Develop succession plans for business continuity.
Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
  • Promote safe behaviours and enforce standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure staff compliance.
  • Report and address health and safety issues promptly.
General Duties
  • Adhere to company values and policies.
  • Ensure team health and safety.
  • Set objectives and provide support to team members.
  • Identify and support training opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and escalate risks as needed.
  • Complete directives from management as required.
ProfileSkills and requirements
  • Extensive experience in multi-site operations within the security industry.
  • Proficient in analysing and controlling costs across multiple sites.
  • Strong leadership and client management experience.
  • Skilled in delegation, project management, and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent time management in multi-site, multi-tasking environments.
  • Competent in situation analysis and decision-making.
  • In-depth understanding of rostering, cost analysis, and resource control.
  • Broad knowledge of Awards, EBA's, and AWA's.
  • Experienced in performance management, including appraisals, counselling, and terminations.
  • Thorough understanding of human resource management principles.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel, MS Word, and Work Buddy.
  • High levels of numerical and literacy competency.
  • Detailed knowledge of WHS, IR, and EEO legislative requirements.
  • Experience in diverse cultural environments.
Additional Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in a Client/Account Management role.
  • 5 years of experience in the security industry.
  • State-based security license.
  • Diploma/Cert IV in Security Risk Management. (advantageous)
  • Diploma/Cert IV in WHS. (advantageous)
  • Cert IV in Training & Development (advantageous).
  • Tertiary qualifications in business/commerce (advantageous).
