IT Network & Systems Administrator

The Company

A local organisation with an established services division are expanding their team. An opportunity within their IT team has become available and are looking for a Network and Systems Administrator to provide exceptional maintenance and support of all systems, networks, telephony, and PC applications.

The Role

Reporting to the IT manager, the Network & Systems Administrator is responsible for performing daily monitoring of all hardware, systems, and server resources as well as providing support to internal users within a collaborative, team-based environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide support on all systems, network, telephony, and PC applications.
• Effectively monitor the ongoing performance, security, reliability and availability of all networks, firewall and security systems, Microsoft servers and virtual environments.
• Maintain and develop system documentation and procedures.
• Proactively identify potential network and system issues, as well as research and provide solutions for such issues.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a computing discipline and/or substantial experience in IT support. Experience in the following is essential:

• Demonstrated experience of networking technologies and protocols.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in the installation, maintenance and configuration of Fortinet based network switches and firewalls.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in the installation, maintenance, and configuration of Microsoft based server and desktop operating systems.
• Good understanding of virtualisation technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with Cisco switching, routing, security, and telephony products
• Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to quality customer service.
• Work well as part of a team and independently.
