Our client, a leading Melbourne utilities provider, is looking for an IT Operations and Applications Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. Your role will be to plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the operations of the organizational information systems, infrastructure, desktops, cloud and software applications. You will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing hardware, systems, and applications.
Key Deliverables:
- Direct the operations and maintenance programs of the organization's IT systems, mission critical IT infrastructure, Cloud services and network infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain (best practice based) operational procedures, processes controls and to ensure compliance with regulations impacting the organization's IT infrastructure and systems.
- Manage the BTS operations groups, including Cloud and IT infrastructure, information security, service desk and desktop support, ensuring timely management and resolution of incidents to agreed service levels.
- Ensure the optimal availability and performance of BTS systems, Cloud services infrastructure and networks.
- Manage the primary datacenter and satellite datacenter environments.
- Research and develop governance-based policies, procedures and relative controls that underpin the company’s Information Security and Information Technology strategies.
- Develop and implement education programs, incident management approaches and risk.
- Be on-call after-hours to co-ordinate responses to IT incidents Development of asset application roadmaps focused on the organization's asset strategy.
- Support and maintenance of the organization's key applications including, availability and performance of key applications, management of application enhancement and defect backlogs.
Key Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in information technology.
- 10+ Years experience in dedicated technology domains.
- 5+ Years experiences in dedicated application and operation management domains .
- Demonstrated history in management of business critical applications, such as Salesforce, billing, ERP.
- Management of critical infrastructure applications team in a Utilities environment would be highly beneficial.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with strong track-record of engaging with business leaders to drive business outcomes.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and the ability to assess and prioritize application and operation risks in the context of managing critical infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience leading/ managing teams including, large/ complex programs of work.
- Proven experience building and managing strong relationships across business and technology teams.
- Strong commercial acumen to engage and manage 3rd party vendors to deliver efficient and effective services to the business,
- Expert knowledge of IT governance, risk and compliance requirements in ICT, including in-depth knowledge of industry standard.
- Technical understanding of the ICT landscape including, ITEL Information risk management, product management, program/ project management, network systems, support desk, service delivery, infrastructure, cloud and engineering.
- Strong ability to develop business aligned application and operational IT strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps.
- Familiarity with water industry regulations and standards would be highly beneficial.
- Financial acumen to develop and manage a application and operational budget, allocating resources effectively to address priority areas.
