The Position

The IT Operations Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the operational
efficiency and dependability of our IT services across multiple locations,
including Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Leading a team of 8-person
team, this position is responsible for a broad spectrum of IT functions: from
desktop and service desk support, network and server maintenance, to
comprehensive patch management and mobile device oversight. This role
ensures the seamless management of end-user computing environments,
asset management, and the implementation of essential IT tools like Service
Desk Plus and End Point Central.

ResponsibilitiesMaintaining optimal network functionality, securing endpoint devices, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with IT policies.

The IT Operations Manager is also tasked with aligning IT
operations with our business objectives, fostering a culture of continuous
improvement and innovation within the team.

The overarching aim is to empower the IT team to effectively meet the
needs of a dynamically growing organisation of over 560 users, thereby
boosting system reliability, enhancing user satisfaction,

Key objective include 

• Managing the IT Operations and staff to provide 1st (Service Desk),
• 2nd level (End Point), and Network/Internet technical support,
• answering support queries through emails, phone, walk up and
• tickets.
• Acting as an escalation point for unresolved or escalated calls.
• Take on a wider customer service role and promote the customer
• service ethic to maintain a high degree of customer service for all
• support queries and adhere to all service management principles
• Report to senior managers on any issue that could significantly
• impact the business
• Ensure IT Operations staff takes ownership of all tickets, and tickets
• are logged and addressed in timely manner
• Manage roster during peak times by sharing work with team members

What are we looking for?
Required Skills and Qualifications● Proven experience in leading and motivating IT teams effectively
● Has 5-10 years of experience in IT Operations, focusing on
management and leadership roles in the past few years
● Technical expert in Office 365, Google Workspaces, and operating
systems for Windows and Mac, as well as proficient in Service Desk
Plus and Endpoint Central tool
● Demonstrates the ability to diagnose and resolve complex IT issues
● Communicates effectively in both verbal and written forms
● Understands IT security protocols and compliance standards
● Holds professional certifications such as ITIL, or technical
certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Google Workspace)
Advantageous Skills and Qualifications
● Experienced in managing service level agreements and vendor
negotiations
● Proficient in managing IT projects from conception to completion
● Knowledge of Specific Technologies: Familiarity with Office 365,
Google Workspaces, Service Desk Plus, Endpoint Central, and both
Windows and Mac OS environments.
