About the Role

We are seeking an IT Support Officer to expand our existing team in Tasmania. The successful applicant will experience vast exposure to all things IT-related including setup and deployments with an excellent opportunity to learn and be part of a strong team.

Your normal day will consist of interfacing with members of the Group to troubleshoot technical issues at the clinic level and support office.  Most importantly you will add exceptional value to the user experience by sharing our team ethos of ‘service’.  You will also be involved in team projects with support from your peers in Queensland, Victoria, Adelaide, and Tasmania.

The role is based in Tasmania, with intermittent intra and interstate travel as required. An induction period will include a minimum of two weeks of hands-on training in Hobart.

• Ability to troubleshoot
• Proactive approach to fixing issues and thinking outside the box
• Willingness to learn on the job and not afraid to ask questions
• Investigate escalated incidents to responsible service owners and seeks resolutions
• Sound knowledge of networking (switches/routers/LAN/WAN/VPN)
• Drivers Licence and own transport is essential as you may be required to attend sites from time to time
• Flexible approach to working hours if required
• Experience with Best Practice Software will be well regarded but not necessary
• Collaboration and cooperation with the rest of the IT Group
• IT Strategy awareness
• Uphold company values
• Site visits each month in coordinated with the rest of the team

Qualifications and Experience 

• Tertiary computing-related qualification preferred
• Commercial IT qualifications e.g. short technical courses in a particular system, IT product, etc
• To demonstrate sufficient expertise, minimum of 2 years of commercial experience in the IT industry is likely, preferably obtained in a clinical environment
• Able and willing to configure PC and server hardware, disk arrays, and associated equipment
• Understanding of basic project management principals

• Focused on supporting the needs of patients i.e. IT’s customer
• Occasional after-hours work
• Professional and presentable
• Willing travel occasionally interstate
• Able to work autonomously and see job through to completion with minimal direct supervision
• Be self-motivated and able to solve technical and business-related problems
• Be presentable, courteous, and respectful always

An IT qualification is not essential, however, qualifications in this field will be viewed favorably as will previous proven experience.
