The Technology Support Officer is responsible for assisting all staff within Council by providing support to users in available applications, including operating systems, network support and hardware trouble shooting. They will provide a high level of customer service to Council's internal and external clients on technology related matters.
This position is part of a multi-skilled team and is required to be flexible and agile. From time to time, this role may be required to support more than one department as the need arises and provide support across the organisation as directed.
Your day to day
- Provide a high level of support to all users in all available applications, including operating system and network support and hardware troubleshooting.
- Provide technical training, advice and practical support to all users to ensure effective utilisation of applications and systems capabilities.

Are you suitable for the role? You meet the following criteria:
- Qualification in Information Technology or Equivalent Experience.
- You have demonstrated experience in Microsoft Windows network operating systems, mini-computer and client/server environment.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, including an understanding of local area network configuration, administration, implementation and troubleshooting.
- Well-developed communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven experience and competence with the Microsoft Office suite, namely Word, Excel and Outlook and Skype for Business.
- Experience in a help desk support role is advantageous.
