The Midfield Group is privately owned and operates a true ‘Paddock to Plate’ experience as we own farms, factories, and distribution as to ensure we retain control of the key elements of the process of getting livestock from paddock to plate.
We are currently seeking an IT Support Technician to join our team in Warrnambool, Victoria.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Level 1 & Level 2 in-person and remote end user support in addition to production floor support within the factory environment
- Responsible for the upkeep and troubleshooting of factory IT devices such as harsh environment computers, industrial scales, and label printers, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
- Monitor connectivity and ensure smooth operation of applications and devices, including basic server and network connectivity checks
- Assist with basic IT maintenance tasks such as system updates, user account management, and monitoring security measures
- Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications and assist with the administration of user access and permissions
- Participate in the maintenance of IT security protocols including updates, patch management, and monitoring for security threats
- Help implement basic IT procedures and assist with system documentation to ensure smooth operations
- Collaborate on small-scale IT projects and contribute to troubleshooting efforts across various sites
- Contribute to overall IT Support across Midfield Group entities, including various production environments and remote sites (including farms)
- Develop skills and knowledge continuously to support career progression within the IT department
- Develop accurate and thorough documentation of all work performed
- Flexible 40-hour work week with 3 shifts (5am, 8am, 2pm) and on-call responsibilities
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:
- Team-oriented with effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively within a team environment
- Organised and capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks, with strong time management abilities to work effectively under pressure
- Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving, with a keen attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt, willing to share knowledge within the team
- Committed to developing accurate and thorough documentation of all work performed
- 1-2 years’ experience in a support or customer service role, with a focus on technology
- Technical diploma or certification in IT or related field is preferred
- Familiarity with Windows environments, basic networking, and user account management
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 and general desktop support
- Experience in an ICT support role including hardware is advantageous
