Job Description:
We seek a motivated, customer-focused, tech-savvy, experienced IT Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing hands-on technical onsite support (using the shared company car) to our clients around Victoria.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Technical Support: Visit client locations to install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of hardware and software issues. This may involve desktops, laptops, printers, network equipment, and more.
- Hardware Installation and Configuration: Install and configure computer systems, peripherals, and network devices according to client requirements. Ensure proper functionality and compatibility.
- Software Support: Assist clients with software installations, updates, and troubleshooting. Provide guidance on software usage and best practices.
- Network Support: Help clients with basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, IP configuration, and Wi-Fi setup.
- Customer Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with clients throughout the support process. Explain technical issues in simple terms and offer appropriate solutions.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of client interactions, technical issues, and solutions provided. Contribute to the knowledge base for future reference.
- Problem Resolution: Efficiently manage and resolve technical problems within defined timelines, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
Qualifications:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts. Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathize with clients. Patience and a customer-centric approach are essential.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues logically and methodically. Adaptability to handle new and complex challenges.
- Time Management: Capable of managing a diverse workload, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Physical Stamina: This role may involve lifting and moving equipment, so the candidate should be physically fit and capable of performing these tasks.
- Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required as you will be travelling to client sites.
- Certifications: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Datto PSA and RMM (formally Autotask PSA and RMM)
- Accounting Application exposure/experience (e.g. MYOB AE/AO, BGL, Handisoft)
- Aged Care and Medical application exposure/experience
- Microsoft certifications
