About the role:
We are looking for an experienced TV Journalist to join our seven day a week market-leading 7 Tasmania News based in Hobart! This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment producing content for Tasmania’s most-watched news. You’ll be equally at ease covering hard news, colour stories and sport, and be confident in reporting live from the field or in the studio.
Key Accountabilities:
Generate story ideas and identify news angles to produce and present original content for broadcast and online platforms.
Work in teams unsupervised and under pressure to meet daily deadlines.
Report live on breaking news.
Cultivate professional relationships with key contacts and sources.
Be capable of covering news assignment or producer shifts.
Experience we’re looking for:
Minimum 2 – 3 years proven Journalism experience with solid news judgement.
Strong, accurate story telling skills – making the complex easy to understand.
Good knowledge of news production and non-linear editing systems (we use iNEWS).
Solid understanding of media law and ethics.
Knowledge of Tasmanian news and issues will be an advantage.
