About the Role
Masscon are seeking a Junior Accountant/ Bookkeeper to provide support to accounting and finance control team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer & Director. You will learn from the best in the business and be a part of a property development group that are looking to grow their team due to a rapid expansion in their pipeline of projects.
You will be responsible for day to day accounts functions and bookkeeping for multiple entities within the group of companies.
To succeed in this role, you must be a good listener, who wants to step up and take on more responsibility. You must be proactive, a forward thinker, have an excellent can-do attitude.
The Key Duties
This role is ideally suited to an accounting professional with 2 or more years experience, preferably with construction companies.
- Bookkeeping all invoices in JOBPAC / MYOB and or any other program that’s implemented.
- Full function Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for multiple companies
- Assist accounts manager in Bank reconciliations across 6 – 8 entities
- Assist accounts manager in Month end duties including BAS preparation, GST statements
- Assist accounts manager in Weekly/ fortnightly statements of cash flow, assets registers, bank positions, internal/ external loans, client’s receivables, sub-contractor’s payment status etc
- Processing of payroll – fortnightly, issuing Pay slips
- Dealing with new venders for opening up new credit accounts, statements,
- Document control for all accounts function.
- General Office administration works
This role is ideally suited to a candidate that is looking for a challenge and is ready to be accountable for their role in the business.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in the accounting, preferably but not mandatory using Procore and for construction companies
- Advanced experience with the ERP systems, JOBPAC , MYOB, XERO or similar. JOBPAC experience preferred but not mandetory.
- Financial acumen – you will be comfortable with numbers.
- Integrity, honesty and high ethical standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive, driven and have initiative
- Excellent attention to detail
- You must be highly organized and possess the ability to priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
- An enthusiastic and can do attitude.
- Self-motivated and a team player.
